The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation is a public, nonprofit organization that partners with donors to help them achieve high-impact philanthropy; supports nonprofit organizations addressing our community’s greatest needs and opportunities; and convenes people to learn, share ideas, and develop community solutions. Founded in 1949 as the Community Welfare Foundation, today the organization stewards more than $212 million in charitable assets and has over 1,000 charitable funds established by individuals, families, nonprofit organizations, and businesses to benefit the future of Linn County, Iowa. In 2024, the Community Foundation celebrates 75 years serving the greater good of the community.
