Iowa is served by 6 Area Agencies on Aging throughout the state to provide support to its members, services available to older adults, individuals with disabilities, and family caregivers, as well as advocates for the aging network. June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month. We take the month of June to bring awareness about Elder Abuse and how important it is to protect those who once cared for us. 1 in 10 Older Adults have experienced a form of abuse and/or neglect and only 1 in 14 report the experience. We need to be aware and raise the awareness to bring change.
