4Cs of Johnson County

4Cs of Johnson County

Our Mission is to level the playing field so that all children, regardless of socioeconomic status, receive a quality early educational experience that provides a pathway to kindergarten readiness.  One of 4Cs goals is to educate, retain, and develop the childcare workforce to promote quality early childhood experiences, and to empower those who choose this work to see their value in our community. The following programs support this goal:

  • Home Ties Child Care Center provides free, temporary child care for families facing serious life issues. - Crisis Child Care of Johnson County provides short-term, emergency child care when families facing crisis are not able to provide regular care
  • Starting Strong is designed to support programs who care for low-income children
  • 4Cs is a Shared Service Alliance Hub in Iowa, offering valuable benefits to its members. Hub Membership provides access to our Business Center and the expertise of Workforce Development Consultants
  • Weekend Backpack Program provides food to families of children in the 0-5 age range. The intention is to expose families to new foods and healthy, but easy-to-access, snacks. This program is also designed to eliminate the weekend stress of food–finding it, accessing it, cooking it, and/or purchasing it
  • We are the local sponsor of the Child Care Food Program in Johnson, Clinton, and Cedar Counties. The goal of this program is to reimburse childcare providers for giving children in their care balanced, nutritious meals.
